Dr. Janine Bloomfield consults with 10Power as their strategy, development, and grants specialist, focusing on developing a variety of clean energy projects with tribal communities in Alaska, Kansas, Nebraska, and Minnesota. She has helped produce and write the new (2025) Strategic Energy Plan for the Native Village of Eklutna, funded by the Tribal Solar Accelerator Fund, which includes a 10MW solar farm project. She has recently won funding to develop a Run of run-of-river hydroelectric project for Port Heiden, including the development of a geothermal project as a model for other Alaska tribes. Other project and interest areas include regenerative agriculture and Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), the accumulated knowledge, practices, and beliefs of indigenous peoples about their environment, passed down through generations, encompassing relationships between people, plants, animals, and natural phenomena. Dr. Bloomfield has worked with a diverse array of stakeholders, including: Tribal Council, Tribal Leaders and Tribal land managers, ecologists, administrators, government agencies and Alaska Native Corporations. Previously, Dr. Bloomfield co-founded Coherent Knowledge, an AI software company that transformed a research system into a business-ready software tool to help companies automate decision making. Partner applications have included defense intelligence, financial regulatory compliance, and medical policy/best practices. Responsibilities included strategic guidance, business development, marketing, program management, partner relations, establishing HR processes, grant writing, and management.As a senior scientist at Environmental Defense Fund, Dr. Bloomfield helped to significantly raise awareness on climate change as the crisis was emerging onto the public stage. As a nationally recognized expert on climate change impacts and forest sequestration, Dr. Bloomfield produced reports, white papers, and multi-media offerings to multiple stakeholder groups including Congress, the White House, and the general public including a first-of-its-kind series of reports on potential impacts of climate change to specific areas of the United States that received extensive national and local media and public attention.
