About me
Brian Allen runs a Seattle-based consultancy focused on cleantech solutions for carbon removal, climate and environmental restoration, and sustainable economic development. His past experience in the technology, energy, investment banking, telecommunications, microfinance, and agricultural sectors led him to later roles in wind, solar, and marine energy, as well as transportation, green building, water, and waste systems.
He is a lifelong technologist and cleantech entrepreneur who has provided strategic planning, finance, operations, and technology consulting for over 30 years. His current focus is supporting early to mid-stage startups who are navigating the complex intersections of business, AI, climate tech, and the circular economy.
Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Brian owns a Homestead Community Land Trust home in West Seattle, which he is renovating into a model of green building techniques and energy self-sufficiency. He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Institut dโรtudes Politiques in Aix-en Provence, France, and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, DC.
His varied interests have led him to found or serve on the boards of groups including the American Solar Energy Society, Sustainable West Seattle, the Washington Alpine Club, the Seattle Astronomical Society, the Washington Alliance of Technology Workers, the Seattle Independent Media Center, the Northwest Ecobuilding Guild, the Green Party of Washington State, the Green Party of Seattle and the Puget Sound Beekeepers Association. He is a referee for the US Soccer Federation, and a certified beer and mead judge.
